Private. Reverse route. Your group only. A guide who has driven every kilometre of this road and never once grown tired of it.
Experience the Great Ocean Road the way it was always meant to be seen — privately, at your own pace, and in reverse.
While every other tour crawls through morning traffic heading southwest, we go the opposite direction — driving inland through Colac first, then arriving at the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge in the morning light, well before the coach crowds begin to arrive. By the time other tours reach the iconic stops, you’ve already been there. And you’ll have seen them the way they deserve to be seen.
Your guide is Ange — a CPV-accredited private touring guide with over six years of experience on this road and a genuine passion for sharing Victoria with guests from all over the world. Tours are conducted in English and Greek. Every tour is private and exclusively for your group. You will never share the vehicle with strangers.
We start at the Twelve Apostles end and work back toward Melbourne — arriving at the most iconic stops in morning light, well before the crowds. The single best decision you can make on the Great Ocean Road.
Travel in a 2022 Mercedes-Benz V-Class with panoramic sunroof — immaculate, climate controlled, and exclusively yours. Up to 6 passengers. Nobody drives. Everyone enjoys.
Choose your departure time — 6:30am, 6:45am, or 7:00am. The earlier we leave, the more of the day is yours and the quieter the iconic stops will be.
Your guide knows exactly where to find native Victorian wildlife in their natural habitat — the kind of genuine moments that don't appear on any other tour itinerary.
Linger where you love it. Move when you're ready. And if we find ourselves ahead of schedule, expect a few wonderful surprises that don't appear on any other itinerary.
Every Synergy Scenic tour is exclusively for your group. You will never share the vehicle with strangers. This is our most important promise and it applies to every single booking.

The standard Reverse Day Tour itinerary. Departure times of 6:30am, 6:45am, or 7:00am are available — your guide will contact you the day before to confirm your exact pickup time and hotel location. Tap a stop for the full detail.
Your guide collects you directly from your Melbourne CBD hotel. The immaculate Mercedes-Benz V-Class will be waiting — and so will your guide, ready to walk you through the day ahead.
Your first stop — a welcome coffee break in Colac, gateway to the Great Ocean Road region and home to Lake Colac, one of Victoria’s largest natural lakes. Stretch your legs, grab a great coffee, and get ready for one of the world’s most iconic drives to unfold ahead.
Stand before one of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders — limestone stacks rising dramatically from the Southern Ocean. By taking the reverse route we arrive well ahead of the crowds, giving you more space, better morning light, and a genuinely personal experience at one of Australia’s most iconic landmarks. Despite the name, only eight stacks remain today after one collapsed in 2005.
One of the most dramatic and haunting landscapes along the Great Ocean Road — a breathtaking natural inlet of turquoise water framed by towering limestone cliffs. Named after the iron clipper ship that wrecked here in 1878, killing 52 of 54 passengers. Your guide shares the remarkable survival story of the only two teenagers who made it ashore. Just moments away, the Razorback is a striking narrow rock formation rising from the ocean.
Drive through the magnificent Great Otway National Park — one of Victoria’s most ancient and beautiful rainforests. Towering Mountain Ash trees, lush myrtle beech, and ancient tree ferns create a breathtaking canopy as you wind through this stunning landscape. A peaceful contrast to the dramatic coastal scenery of the day.
Step into one of Victoria’s most magical ancient rainforests on a short boardwalk trail winding through towering Mountain Ash trees, myrtle beech, and ancient tree ferns some of which are over 300 years old. A peaceful and humbling contrast to the rugged coastal scenery — one of the hidden gems of the Great Ocean Road that many visitors never experience.
Your lunch stop in the charming coastal town of Apollo Bay — nestled between the rolling Otway Ranges and the Southern Ocean. Choose from a great selection of cafes and restaurants on the main strip. Your guide will recommend the best local spots based on your preferences. A perfect opportunity to stroll along the harbour foreshore and soak in the relaxed coastal atmosphere.
After lunch the Great Ocean Road reveals its most dramatic and iconic clifftop coastal scenery — the winding road hugging the Southern Ocean with breathtaking views at every turn. Your guide will slow at the best vantage points along the way for photos and to take in the views.
Perched high above the Great Ocean Road, Teddy’s Lookout in Lorne offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the entire coastline. Named after Edward “Teddy” Ewart, a local identity instrumental in the early development of Lorne as a holiday destination in the late 1800s.
The iconic Memorial Arch marking the official start of the Great Ocean Road — the world’s largest war memorial, built by over 3,000 returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932 entirely by hand. A powerful and moving reminder of the remarkable story behind one of the world’s greatest coastal drives.
The perfect final stop before returning to Melbourne — the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery. Browse an incredible selection of handcrafted Belgian chocolates, artisan fudge, and ice cream made on site. A wonderful opportunity to pick up gifts and souvenirs and take a final comfort break before the return journey.
Return to your Melbourne CBD hotel. Estimated arrival late afternoon to early evening depending on your departure time and traffic. Your guide will give you an estimated return time the day before.

The Great Ocean Road Tour- A must see with Synergy Scenic Tours! Large companies with large groups of people don’t give the same experience as having a tour designed especially for you at your own pace.
We had the pleasure of seeing the Great Ocean Road with Ange. With his knowledge of the area, we saw Loch Ard shipwreck and the Twelve Apostles. Both beautiful and historic! We also were treated with small stops along the way where we saw kangaroos and koalas in the wild! It was amazing to see them in their natural habitat that nobody else would’ve had the time to stop and show us.
We also walked down a bit closer to the ocean to see natural views and rock formations. Again all at our own pace. Because we had some time left, Ange took us to see a lighthouse and to a chocolate factory. Both were not originally on the itinerary, but he thought we might like to see these, so he stopped for us.
Thank you, Ange for an amazing trip and hope to see you again!

One of the best experiences of my life. We tried the Great Ocean Road tour with my wife. These guys are true professionals and very friendly. The atmosphere was amazing, Ange’s humor kept everyone smiling, the music was great, and the unexpected surprises along the way made the experience even more special. Highly recommended!

Ange is so sweet. He prepared water for us. And followed us closely as it’s kept raining all the time. Really punctual, gentle, patient and thoughtful. It was such a good time today.
